but he also looked like a zombie. Like, he was very pale and he was covered in blood. It’s hard to remember as an actor sometimes that you’re pale and covered in blood and just shot yourself and that’s how you appear to people. Right. Well, and I felt like I had killed him. I felt very directly responsible for it. I remember writing that scene in the novel. It was the first scene I wrote and I just felt very anxious with this man I felt as if I’d murdered hanging out with me at craft services eating Cheetos. Yeah. And it’s like, why won’t you stay dead? (LAUGHING) That is how you felt. Here’s our little SeaWorld shout out in the movie. Oh, yeah. So this was a bit of a thing. No SeaWorld, in the film. Yeah, no SeaWorld in the movie, but we just felt like it was a mistake on many, many levels. Yeah, yeah. We should talk a little bit more about Hannah and Josiah here. I mean they’re just so good. And, I mean, it’s funny ’cause Hannah doesn’t even actually look all that much like Cara Delevingne in real life. But they had her hair straightened and there were contacts I think that she put in and she just really game She got it. It was really funny to see the two of them together. Yeah, Hannah’s a wonderful, wonderful young actor. That’s such a good line and it’s hard to deliver and she did a wonderful job. Yeah. When I say it’s such a good line, I mean that I wrote it and I like it. It’s one of your better ones. Thanks, buddy. Good one. Yeah. And Josiah’s a great little Q. Although he looks so much like the executive producer of the movie, Isaac Klausner, that at times I felt like he was a little Isaac, more than a little Q. You’re not the only one to think that, yeah. I love this shot, Jake. This is such a great shot. It’s just beautiful. Thanks. Yeah, well that was kind of, when I remember reading the novel and this is one of my favorite lines from the book, you know? “She became one.” The challenge of the movie was, like, how do you find shots that can live up to that writing, you know, that can try to give like a visual sense of something that’s that impactful?
